Ramelteon is usually given to people who have sleeping issues. Rozerem is given to people who have persistent problems related to sleeping as it is a long-term solution. However, there’s no sign of dependence or abuse which is why a lot of doctors prescribe this medicine to others.
Suvorexant: Suvorexant blocks all hormones that promotes you to stay awake thereby being a primary reason for insomnia. One of the greatest benefits of using Suvorexant is that it is approved by FDA and can be effective for treating insomnia and inability to sleep. However, it may promote dizzy or drowsy feeling the following day as well.
Will over-the-counter medicines be effective? Most of these sleeping pills have antihistamines characteristics. However, there is no scientific evidence if the medicine can treat insomnia and completely cure it. Furthermore, it is also stated that most of these medicines may cause a drowsy feeling the following day. But, most of these medicines are sold without a prescription and are safe to use. But if you are using other medicines that are antihistamines such as the ones to treat cold or allergic reactions, you may want to reconsider these medicines.
