There are a vast amount of factors which can cause an individual to have insomnia or similar sleeping disorder, these are generally split into two types; acute insomnia and chronic insomnia. Acute insomnia can occur at any given time and can also disappear just as quick. Should this become a regular occurrence then you will need the correct treatment to overcome the sleeping disorder.
Here’s just a few things which can bring on acute Insomnia:
Sudden and extreme stress, such as debt worries, workplace difficulties and bereavement.
A period of illness or painful / debilitating injury refraining you from dozing off.
Certain medication implications – ensure these tablets are safe for you alongside any current prescriptions.
Changes in your normal sleep schedule, such as working shift patterns, returning from holiday, having a first born or even just eating too late.
Chronic insomnia can cause drastic consequences in your life on a long term basis. Many would argue it seriously reduces your quality of life on a day to day basis. Chronic insomnia generally wont just disappear on its own and will almost always require at least one course of sleeping tablets. If you are having at least three sleepless nights or disrupted sleep in a one week period this can generally be classed as chronic insomnia due to the deflation of your persona on a daily basis. These problems can be linked to more severe physiological issues which if not treated could worsen, you may have certain psychological roots in your genes which you can’t help or it can even be linked to the use of certain over-counter and prescription medications among other factors of “nightcap” including alcohol and soft drugs.
